School Closing: Bad Weather or Other Emergency

In general, CLEEC follows the Olathe United School District in regard to school closing due to inclement weather or other emergency situations. School Closings will be announced on the following local television stations: Channel 9-KMBC; FOX 4-WDAF; Channel 5-KCTV; and Channel 41-KSHB. Please note: If Olathe USD is closed it is not automatic that CLEEC will be closed. Oftentimes, Olathe is closed due to busing, not necessarily road or unsafe conditions. Please be sure a Christ Lutheran School Overland Park closing is announced. You may also contact the Early Education Center at (913) 754-5813 for closing information.

Keep Your Child At Home If...

1. Has a fever or have had one in the last 24 hours.
2. Has vomited in the last 12 hours (during the night).
3. Has a rash (other than allergic).
4. Has a sore or red throat.
5. Has reddened, running, or swollen eyes (other than allergic).
6. Has an infection requiring antibiotics and have not yet been on the medication for a full
24 hours. (Taking antibiotics for 24 hours reduces communicability.)
7. Has diarrhea.
8. Has a cold that is causing discolored discharge.

Absences

Parents are asked to call the office at 754-5841 if your child is sick or unable to attend class.
Communicable diseases must be reported to the school.

No refund is given for days absent.
